I have loved handwriting since learning cursive in grade school. I loved it so much, my grandmother bought me a calligraphy set when I was a young girl and I have fond memories of practicing our strokes together at her kitchen table. So when Natalie of Mint & Maple asked me to provide flowers for a recent Brush Lettering 101 workshop I jumped at the opportunity! Her classes provide a fun and educational experience for her students to express themselves creatively through the art of calligraphy. These days, with the use of computers and typing and emails rather than hand written notes and snail mail, I greatly appreciate Natalie's mission to keep this beautiful form of self expression alive and well! Enjoy!

Let's face it - Instagram can be tricky.
As a small business owner you understand the value of a strong social media presence and following, yet your feed doesn't quite represent your brand the way you want it to. The Curate Workshop, established by photographers Ashleigh Amoroso and Katie Jameson, was created as a tool to help people just like you in curating an attractive Instagram feed, acquiring a strong, engaged audience and building a cohesive brand.
We're thrilled to participate again as the floral sponsor for Round Two of this exciting and interactive workshop this Sunday, June 26 at One Eleven East in Hutto, TX. Only a few tickets are still available! Click here for more information on how to reserve your spot.
If you're serious about taking your brand to the next level, you seriously won't want to miss this opportunity to learn from the best. Hope to see you there!

i recently had the opportunity to collaborate with some of my favorite vendors on designing the inspiration room at marquee event rentals . my friend emily of birddog wedding asked me to create centerpieces for the two month installation. it had to withstand the entire time without water so that immediately nixed fresh floral and lead me to design this naturally dried preserved centerpiece. having never worked with this medium before, i approached the task as a creative challenge and i could not be more satisfied with the final outcome!
in addition to the preserved centerpiece we were able to incorporate our collection of brass candlesticks and bud vases as well as our favorite antique apothecary bottles filled with dried flax and lavender. potted cactus in aged terra cotta completed the design to create a full tablescape!
emily conceptualized the chic moroccan inspired design which included a perfect blend of shimmery metallics, natural wood, cool blue tones, organic elements and pops of vibrant color. she also hand-made this amazing tassel garland which completely tied the whole thing together!
carm collins provided the charming hand-lettered placecards and menu on colorful pink paper. but our favorite was the antique mirror and vintage easel she used for vendor credits. we then used a curly piece of grapewood and a few airplants to adorn the top and tie it into the rest of the design!
the best part was having free reign to select from marquee's extensive selection of rental items. we especially love the metal stars and lanterns hung to create a bohemian vibe. all the furniture, place settings, linens and lounge decor can be found at their showroom and used to create your next special event!
big thank you to kristen kilpatrick for all her efforts in capturing this fun project for us!

it's often too easy to let the busyness of life get in the way of living it. a truth experienced again and again during davy gray's first year in business. fortunately for me, taylor is a constant reminder of what's really important. he grounds me, supports me, makes me laugh, lets me cry, loves me to no end, and i am so very excited to be his partner in this life.
we took these photos on a bone chilling afternoon. the weather called for 60 degrees and dry. what we got was 40 degrees, gusty wind and drizzle. luckily taylor grabbed two mexican blankets and a bottle of whiskey on our way out the door. my man. always thinking ahead.
taylor designed my ring with our sister margot wolf. they found out about all the vintage, single stone rings on my secret pinterest board and collaborated to create the most precious piece of jewelry i have ever worn. the stone is vintage from the 1920's and the band was designed to resemble wood grain to symbolize my new adventures in flowering. pretty perfect, right?
despite the cold, the day was beautifully captured by our sister and photographer paula wolf. her mindfulness and precise vision for the end result made working together a dream. she challenged herself and shot the photos simultaneously with this amazing video. and we seriously cannot thank her enough for this priceless gift.
our friend married the love of her life and we had the pleasure of creating a flower halo for the occasion.
all the best to these two as they begin an amazing new adventure together!
what do you do when there's a $0 budget for flowers and you have to style a private neighbor's table dinner party at west elm? answer: forage.
